How We Approach Accuracy & Safety
Where HRTMe's information comes from, what the app does and doesn't do, and how we keep it safe

Our approach
HRTMe is built to help you manage your hormone replacement therapy safely and confidently. We take accuracy, safety, and your privacy seriously, and this page explains how. We review it regularly and update the date above when we do.
What HRTMe is — and isn't
HRTMe helps you keep track of your hormone replacement therapy: your medications, reminders, symptoms, mood, and periods, and a report you can share with your healthcare professional.
HRTMe is a wellbeing and self-management tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose conditions, provide medical advice, or recommend or alter treatment. The medications and schedules in the app are the ones you enter from your own prescription. HRTMe organises and displays that information back to you — it does not generate clinical recommendations.
HRTMe is designed to support the conversations you have with your GP, prescriber, or pharmacist. It is not a substitute for their advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your treatment, and never start, stop, or change a medication based on the app.
Where our information comes from
The medication brands and regimens HRTMe can set up are based on reputable, publicly available UK sources, including the NHS and the medicines covered by the NHS HRT Prescription Prepayment Certificate. General information in our blog draws on the NHS and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). We review content periodically to keep it current.
HRTMe does not generate medical guidance of its own — it presents established information and the data you enter yourself.
Your privacy
Your health data stays on your device. HRTMe needs no account or login, sells no data, and shows no advertising. Your health data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Analytics are fully anonymous and contain no health information. Optional iCloud backup, if you turn it on, stores a backup file in your own iCloud Drive within your own Apple account — we never see it. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Keeping the app safe and current
HRTMe is actively maintained. We release regular updates to fix issues and improve the app, and you can see what's changed in each version on the App Store. If a safety or accuracy issue is identified, we prioritise addressing it.
Reporting a concern
If you spot something inaccurate, or have a safety concern about the app, please tell us at [email protected]. We take reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
Who we are
