How HRTMe protects your data

Overview

HRTMe is an HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) reminder and tracking app developed by Forgeyard Digital. Your privacy is fundamental to how this app is built. HRTMe stores your data locally on your device and does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal or health information.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All of the following data is stored exclusively on your device using iOS standard storage. It is never transmitted to the developer or any third party.

Medication Information

  • Medication names, strengths, and delivery methods
  • Medication schedules and cycle configurations
  • Medication change event history (taken, skipped, snoozed)
  • Due time calculations for upcoming medication actions
  • Adherence records (timing of actual vs. expected actions)

Wellbeing Tracking

  • Mood ratings and timestamps
  • Energy level ratings and timestamps
  • Brain fog ratings and timestamps

Symptom Tracking

  • Symptom entries (e.g., hot flashes, night sweats, and other HRT-related symptoms)
  • Symptom severity and timestamps

Period Tracking

  • Period event dates
  • Flow level ratings
  • Associated symptoms

App Configuration

  • Notification preferences (snooze time, repeat count, sleep schedule)
  • Onboarding completion status
  • Subscription tier status (Free, Essential, or Complete)
  • Settings and display preferences

Anonymous Usage Analytics

HRTMe uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-preserving analytics service, to collect anonymous usage signals. This helps improve the app by understanding which features are used and how.

TelemetryDeck:

  • Does not collect personal data, health data, device identifiers, or IP addresses
  • Does not receive medication names, doses, mood ratings, symptom entries, bleed data, energy ratings, brain fog ratings, or any health information whatsoever
  • Uses differential privacy techniques to prevent identification of individual users
  • Is fully compliant with GDPR and CCPA

You can disable analytics entirely in Settings > Privacy.

Crash Diagnostics

HRTMe uses Apple's MetricKit framework for crash diagnostics. Crash reports are collected by iOS itself and are subject to Apple's privacy practices. The developer receives anonymised, aggregated diagnostic data through App Store Connect. No personal or health data is included in crash reports.

iCloud Backup

HRTMe offers an optional iCloud backup feature (available to Essential and Complete subscribers). When you choose to create a backup:

  • Backups are initiated manually by you -- the app never backs up automatically
  • Backup files are stored in your personal iCloud Drive (Documents folder), not on any developer-controlled server
  • Backups are protected by your Apple ID security (including two-factor authentication if enabled)
  • The developer has no access to your iCloud Drive or backup files
  • You can delete backup files at any time through the Files app or iCloud Drive
  • Restoring from a backup replaces your local data with the backup contents

iCloud Drive storage is managed by Apple and subject to Apple's iCloud privacy policy.

Subscription Data

HRTMe offers optional paid subscriptions (Essential and Complete tiers) handled entirely through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework.

  • Payment processing is handled by Apple. HRTMe never receives, stores, or has access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials.
  • Subscription status (which tier is active, expiry date, and trial state) is stored locally on your device.
  • Transaction verification occurs between your device and Apple's servers using StoreKit 2. The developer does not operate any server that participates in this process.
  • Purchase history is managed by Apple through your Apple ID account.

Notifications

HRTMe uses local notifications to remind you about medication actions:

  • Notifications are generated and processed entirely on your device
  • No notification data is sent to external servers
  • Notification content contains only reminder messages (no health data)
  • You can control notification permissions in iOS Settings

Data Sharing

HRTMe does not:

  • Share your data with any third party
  • Sell your data
  • Use your data for advertising
  • Display any advertisements
  • Require account creation or login
  • Collect or transmit personal health information

Data Security

  • All data is stored using iOS standard secure storage (UserDefaults and the app's sandboxed container)
  • Data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
  • Data is included in encrypted device backups (if you enable encrypted backups via iTunes/Finder)
  • Data is sandboxed by iOS and not accessible by other apps
  • The developer cannot access data on your device

Data Deletion

Delete specific items: Use the app's interface to remove individual medication records, wellbeing entries, symptom logs, or bleed events.

Delete all local data: Uninstalling HRTMe from your device removes all locally stored app data.

Delete iCloud backups: If you have created iCloud backups, delete them through the Files app or iCloud Drive settings. Uninstalling the app does not automatically remove iCloud Drive files.

Note: If you have device backups (iCloud or Finder/iTunes), app data may be included in those backups and could be restored if you restore from that backup.

Children's Privacy

HRTMe is an HRT medication management app intended for adults. It is not designed for or directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Medical Disclaimer

HRTMe is a reminder and tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The app should not be used as a substitute for professional medical guidance. Always consult your healthcare provider for decisions about your HRT or any other medical treatment.

Your Rights and Control

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over:

  • What data exists -- you create all entries manually
  • How long data is retained -- data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app
  • Who can access it -- only someone with physical access to your unlocked device
  • When it is deleted -- you can delete data at any time

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

Since HRTMe does not collect or transmit personal data to any server controlled by the developer, the GDPR obligations that apply to data controllers do not apply. You maintain full control of all data at all times. If you have questions about your rights, contact us at the address below.

Since HRTMe does not collect, sell, or share personal information with third parties, CCPA disclosure requirements regarding the sale of personal information do not apply. You maintain all rights to data stored on your device.

HRTMe uses the following third-party services:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
  • Providing notice within the app for significant changes
  • Publishing the updated policy at the same public URL
